- Karela (or bitter guard) contains a ‘plant-insulin’ that helps lower blood sugar levels. It also possesses antioxidant properties, which help reduce the risk of diabetic complications. Drink karela juice, twice or thrice a day before meals.
- Neem leaves lower blood sugar levels and are believed to reduce dependence on hypogycemic drugs. Eat a handful of neem leaves first thing in the morning.
