Lower cholesterol the natural way!

Worried about your elevated cholesterol levels? Here’s our healthy eating guide to busting cholesterol, naturally:

 

Oats: This potent cholesterol lowering food is rich in complex carbohydrates, fibres, minerals and vitamins. Eat a bowl every morning.

 

Walnuts & Almonds: Rich in omerga-3 fatty acid, minerals, vitamins and healthy fat, nuts are heart friendly. Have a handful daily (unsalted and not fried)

 

Barley: It’s soluble fibre aids in lowering cholesterol. It’s also rich in anti-oxidants and vitamins. Can be eaten alone or added to soup and curries. Kichdi.

 

Indian Beans: Soybean, red kidney beans (rajma), black-eyed beans (lobia) are rich in soluble fibre and an excellent source of anti-oxidants. Tuck in.

 

Fatty Fish: Salmon, tuna, mackerel sardines are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which lowers bad cholesterol and protect against heart disease. Take the plunge.

 

Green Leafy Veggies: They are a great addition to your diet – low in calories but loaded with fibre, minerals and vitamins. Indulge as much as possible.
